In Kofi Annan's recent opinion piece on Democrats and Ralph Northam (“Black or Blue: Lessons Learned from How Virginia Democrats Handled the Ralph Northam Debacle,” Connection, May 1-7, 2019) he states that "Liberals have long sought to convince African Americans that they alone can shield us from conservative's intent on rolling back the hands of time." I'm one among many conservatives who don't want to roll back the hands of time, and welcome the opportunity to promote civil rights and equity for all. In doing so, it's important that we judge each other by the content of one's character, not by the color of one's politics.
